Nahliyah enjoyed having a few weeks off from school during winter break. She got to spend a lot of time with her cousins and her Nonnie (maternal Grandmother).
It’s always challenging to shop for Nahliyah during Christmas because she never asks for much (such a terrible problem to have LOL). This year Nahliyah’s list was as follows: a new bike, shoes, a ventriloquist doll, perfume and gift cards to Cold Stone Creamery. Luckily Nahliyah was on the “nice list” this year, therefore she got everything on her list.
Since Christmas Nahliyah has been spending a lot of time riding her bike. About a week ago she was able to take the training wheels off. Nahliyah was both excited and nervous to ride her “big girl bike”. She put on her gear (helmet, knee pads and elbow pads) and hit the streets. After 3 days, a few falls and a couple crashes, she is officially a ‘semi-pro bike rider’. After school and homework, Nahliyah rides around the neighborhood so she can get more comfortable on the bike.
Marcus’ birthday (January 23) just passed and instead of being sad, we used the day to celebrate the man we all loved. Nahliyah decided she wanted to have a BIG birthday dinner for “daddy”. About 10 friends and family gathered together in his spirit to eat and fellowship. Nahliyah was 100% in her element of socializing and making everyone laugh.
Stay tuned for what’s next for Nahliyah in 2020!
