In March Nahliyah auditioned for her school musical and landed the role as The Genie. Every Tuesday, Nahliyah participated in drama club to prepare for her upcoming performance which took place April 27th. Nahliyah worked very hard to memorize her lines and songs. Her hard work truly showed during the performance. She looked adorable in her genie costume with her top knot bun.
For Nahliyah’s last week of school (which is considered project week) her theme is “Little Doctors”. A few of the projects she has worked on so far this week is learning CPR, making a simulated model of the lungs and a simulated model of blood which shows the red and white blood cells. As first grade wraps up, Nahliyah has continued to excel in school by achieving academic success and making honor roll once again.
Nahliyah will be spending the summer in Virginia with her paternal grandfather. For her birthday (July 28) she will have the opportunity to go to DC and visit the White House, the MLK monument and the National Museum of African American History and Culture. She is looking forward to her summer vacation!
